Hire Node.js developers

Backend developers who build APIs, integrations and background jobs in TypeScript on Node.js, with tests and monitoring included in the work.

What a Tankar Node.js developer does

Designs and builds the API, the data model and the background jobs behind a product, and treats retries, idempotency and observability as part of the feature rather than a later hardening pass.

Where Node.js is the right choice

One language across the front end and the API, a large integration ecosystem, and good throughput on work that is mostly waiting on other systems. For heavy numerical work or long-running data processing, we will point you at Python instead.

How the engagement is set up

Named developers on your board and in your repository, a weekly demo, and access issued per person under the ISO 27001 process and revoked when the engagement ends.

What each level brings

LevelWhat they bring
Junior
  • Implements endpoints against an agreed API contract, with validation and tests
  • Writes migrations and queries under review, and reads a query plan when asked
  • Follows the logging and error-handling conventions already in the codebase
Mid-level
  • Designs the data model and the API surface for a feature, including its failure cases
  • Builds third-party integrations with retries, idempotency keys and a replay path
  • Adds the metrics and alerts a feature needs before it goes live, not after an incident
Senior
  • Owns service boundaries, background job design and the performance of the database layer
  • Runs incident reviews and turns findings into tests, alerts and runbook entries
  • Sets the review standard for the backend and mentors the rest of the pod

Engagement terms

The terms that hold for every developer placed on this stack.

TermDetail
IP and source codeFull IP assignment at final payment. Source code sits in your repository from week one, and an NDA is signed before discovery.
Access and securityLeast-privilege access to your systems, accounts issued per person and revoked on the last day, under the ISO 27001 process.

Questions buyers ask

What buyers ask before they add a developer on this stack.

Can they work with our existing database and API?

Yes. Week one is reading the schema, running the service locally and shipping one small change, so the first real ticket is not also the first build.

Do they handle integrations with payment providers and ERPs?

Yes. Integration work is most of what a backend developer does in practice, and the ones we place are asked in the interview to explain how they handled retries, duplicates and a provider outage.

TypeScript or plain JavaScript?

TypeScript by default, including on existing JavaScript codebases, where types are added file by file rather than in one large rewrite.

Can one developer cover front end as well?

Sometimes, and we will say so honestly rather than sell you a full-stack label. For a product with real front-end work, a Next.js developer alongside is usually cheaper than one person switching context.
