What a cookie is here
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. This policy also covers the other things that behave like cookies: local storage, pixels and the tags loaded by a tag manager. They are treated the same way, because from your point of view they do the same job.
What loads before you choose depends on where you are. In the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area and any region we cannot identify, analytics and marketing tags wait for your choice. In the United States, the Middle East, Australia and India, analytics starts after a notice and marketing tags wait for you to opt in. Everywhere, the cookies in the necessary category below are set because the site needs them to work, and they cannot be switched off.
When the site is hosted on Vercel, two measurement tools, Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, run in every region without waiting for consent. They set no cookie, store no identifier in your browser and report only aggregate page views and page speed. Because they cannot recognise you from one visit to the next, they are listed separately from the analytics category.
The three categories
Necessary. Remembers your consent choice, your region, and the security tokens a form needs to tell a person from a bot. Without these the site either breaks or forgets what you told it.
Analytics. Counts visits and records which pages people read and where they give up. We use it to find slow or confusing pages. It is not used to build a profile of you for advertising.
Marketing. Lets advertising platforms recognise a visit that came from one of their ads and measure whether it led to an enquiry.
What is set, and when
| Name or tag | Category | Set by | Purpose | Typical lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
tk_consent | Necessary | This site | Stores which categories you allowed and the version of the banner you saw, in local storage with a cookie copy | 180 days, or until you change your choice |
tk_region | Necessary | This site | Remembers which region's contact details, hours and currency to show | 180 days |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Necessary | Cloudflare | Checks that a form was submitted by a person | Session |
| Google Tag Manager | Depends on the tag | Loads the tags below, and only the ones you allowed | Not a cookie itself | |
| Google Analytics 4 | Analytics | Counts visits and page views, and measures how pages perform | Up to 2 years | |
| Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights | Cookieless measurement, not consent-gated | Vercel | Aggregate page views and page speed, without a cookie or a persistent identifier | No cookie set |
| Microsoft Clarity | Analytics, optional | Microsoft | Aggregate interaction data used to find confusing layouts, enabled only if we turn it on | Up to 1 year |
| LinkedIn Insight Tag | Marketing | Measures whether a visit came from a LinkedIn campaign | Up to 6 months | |
| Meta Pixel | Marketing | Meta | Measures whether a visit came from a Meta campaign | Up to 3 months |
Consent, by region
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, analytics and marketing tags stay switched off until you allow them. Google Consent Mode v2 defaults are set to denied, so nothing is sent before your choice.
Elsewhere, analytics loads with a notice and marketing tags still wait for you to opt in. Whichever region you are in, you can change your mind at any time and the change takes effect on the next page you load.
Changing your choice
Use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page. It reopens the banner with your current choices, and you can turn a category on or off there.
You can also clear cookies in your browser, which resets everything including your consent record, so the banner appears again on your next visit. Browser settings can block cookies entirely; the necessary ones are the only ones that affect whether the site works, and blocking them means the banner and the region selection will not be remembered.
Third-party providers
The analytics and marketing tags above are operated by the companies named in the table, and each has its own privacy policy governing what it does with the data it collects. Where a provider processes data outside your country, that transfer is covered in our privacy policy.
