Our standard
This website is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. It covers every page on tankarsolutions.com, including the forms.
How the site is built for it
- Every page has landmarks, a skip link as the first stop for the keyboard, one main heading and headings in order.
- Every control works with a keyboard, and the element in focus always shows a visible ring.
- Text is designed for a contrast of at least 4.5:1 against its background.
- Movement is reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Form fields have visible labels. An error says what to fix and is linked to the field it belongs to.
- Colour is never the only way something is shown. The current page in the menu is also underlined.
- Photographs that only set the scene are marked as decorative, so a screen reader skips them. Images that carry information have a description.
How it is tested
- On every change to the site, automated checks based on the WCAG 2.2 AA rules run on every page in the sitemap, once at a desktop width of 1440 pixels and once at a phone width of 390 pixels. A serious or critical issue fails the check.
- Every page is also loaded at 320 pixels wide, the narrowest width the guidelines ask a site to support, and at 1024 pixels. No page may need scrolling sideways at either width.
- Keyboard-only tests walk the main menu, the phone menu, the region switcher, the questions and answers, and all three steps of the proposal form.
- Lighthouse accessibility audits run on each type of page for every proposed change.
Known limitations
- Automated checks do not find every barrier. A full manual review with screen readers has not been completed yet, so we do not claim full conformance.
- The booking calendar and the security check on the forms are provided by third parties, and their accessibility is outside our direct control. If either stops you, use the contact page instead.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on this site is hard to use, tell us through the contact page and say which page and what you were trying to do. A named person replies within one business day.
