Is a Python developer the same as a machine-learning engineer?
No, and the difference matters. A Python developer builds services and pipelines. If you need model selection, evaluation and monitoring, ask for an AI and machine-learning engineer instead.
Can they work inside our data warehouse?
Yes. Most engagements are inside an existing warehouse with dbt or SQL models, and the developer works to your naming and testing conventions rather than importing ours.
How do you handle access to sensitive data?
Least-privilege accounts issued per person, access logged, and a masked or sampled copy used wherever the work does not need the real records. The arrangement is agreed in writing before access is granted.
Django or FastAPI?
Django when the product needs an admin, auth and forms out of the box. FastAPI when the job is a typed API or a model service. The choice is made per project and explained in the estimate.
Can they take over an existing pipeline nobody understands?
Yes, and the first output is usually a written map of what runs, when, and what breaks when it is late. That document is useful even if you stop there.
