Hire .NET developers

Developers who build and modernise business systems on .NET and SQL Server, including the older applications most teams cannot afford to stop.

What a Tankar .NET developer does

Works on the systems a business runs on, which usually means an application with years of history, real data and no appetite for downtime. The skill is changing it safely, in pieces, with tests around the behaviour that must stay the same.

Modernisation without a freeze

A rewrite that takes a year and stops feature work is the most common way these projects fail. We sequence the move so each slice ships and the old and new parts run side by side while the change happens.

How the engagement is set up

Named developers on your board and in your repository, a weekly demo, and access issued per person under the ISO 27001 process and revoked when the engagement ends.

What each level brings

LevelWhat they bring
Junior
  • Implements controllers, services and queries inside an existing solution structure
  • Writes unit tests and follows the branching and review conventions of the team
  • Reads a stored procedure and explains what it does before changing it
Mid-level
  • Owns a module including its data access, transactions and background processing
  • Moves work off a legacy framework in slices that ship, rather than in one rewrite
  • Tunes queries and indexes against a real execution plan
Senior
  • Plans a modernisation sequence that keeps the business running while it happens
  • Designs integration and messaging patterns between old and new components
  • Owns the release process, the rollback plan and the review standard for the team

Engagement terms

The terms that hold for every developer placed on this stack.

TermDetail
IP and source codeFull IP assignment at final payment. Source code sits in your repository from week one, and an NDA is signed before discovery.
Access and securityLeast-privilege access to your systems, accounts issued per person and revoked on the last day, under the ISO 27001 process.

Questions buyers ask

What buyers ask before they add a developer on this stack.

Can they work on .NET Framework, not only .NET 8?

Yes. Most modernisation work starts on .NET Framework or an older ASP.NET application, and the useful skill is moving it forward in slices that ship rather than rewriting it.

Do we have to move to Azure?

No. .NET runs on Linux and on any cloud, and the hosting choice is made on your constraints and costs. If Azure is already in use, the work uses it.

Can they take over a system with no documentation?

Yes. The first output is a written map of the modules, the data model and the jobs, plus the risks found while reading. That document is yours whatever you decide next.

How do you avoid breaking a running business system?

Characterisation tests around the behaviour that must not change, feature flags for anything new, and a rollback plan agreed before each release. Changes go out in small pieces for the same reason.

Do you work with SQL Server and stored procedures?

Yes, including systems where much of the logic lives in stored procedures. Moving that logic is a decision with a cost, so it is planned rather than assumed.
