Travel and hospitality
Booking platforms, agent portals and property systems where inventory, pricing and cancellation rules come from somebody else's system.

What we build for travel
Travel software is mostly integration work wearing a booking screen. Inventory, price and cancellation rules live in supplier systems that differ from each other and change without notice, and the platform's job is to make one coherent flow out of that.
Adapters, not special cases
Every supplier sits behind the same internal inventory interface, so adding or replacing one does not change the booking flow, the ledger or the reports. TripBNG, Tankar's own B2B travel product, is built that way.
The money has to reconcile
Wallets, credit limits, commission and settlement are written as append-only ledger entries, so a report for a past month can be reproduced and a supplier statement can be matched line by line.
Typical engagements
The systems Tankar builds for travel and hospitality, as deliverables rather than adjectives.
- B2B agent portals with supplier inventory, quotes, wallets and commission reporting
- Direct booking engines for hotels, tours and transfers with rate and availability rules
- Supplier and channel integrations for search, booking, amendment and cancellation
- Property and operations back-office systems for rates, allocations and housekeeping
- Traveller-facing apps for itineraries, documents and on-trip updates
- Settlement, refund and commission reporting that reconciles against supplier statements
Compliance notes
The rules that shape a build in this sector and how they are handled in the system rather than in a policy document.
| Requirement | How we build for it |
|---|---|
| PCI DSS | Payment pages send card details straight to the gateway so only a token reaches your platform, which keeps the assessment scope small even when several suppliers are involved in one booking. |
| GDPR and UK GDPR | Passenger records contain identity documents and sometimes special category data such as accessibility needs. Retention is enforced per record type, access is limited by role, and export and deletion routes are built rather than promised. |
| India DPDP Act 2023 | Traveller data collected in India is personal data under the Act. Consent is recorded with its purpose, and the same retention and deletion machinery applies as under GDPR. |
